Chris Brown resorted to name-calling after Kanye West allegedly cut one of his verses from the rapper’s new album, “Donda.”
While Brown’s vocals appear on the chorus of the 27-track album’s 18th song, “New Again,” an additional verse that he apparently recorded was nowhere to be found when “Donda” finally hit streaming services Sunday morning.
“Kanye a whole hoe,” Brown, 32, wrote on his Instagram Story in response to the alleged snub.
In another post, he added, “Nah he tweakin.”
A source close to the situation told The Shade Room that Brown — who was last featured on West’s 2016 album, “The Life of Pablo,” on the song “Waves” — “was a little heated about his verse being removed from one of the songs on the new album.”
Reps for Brown and West did not immediately respond to our requests for comment.
Brown isn’t the only artist to voice frustration over being cut from West’s much-anticipated (and much-delayed) album.
Soulja Boy also blasted Kim Kardashian’s estranged husband for allegedly ditching his verse. The “Crank That” rapper, 31, released screenshots of a conversation he had with West in which they discussed the verse, with Soulja Boy tweeting angrily Sunday, “This n—-a Kanye smh. Tell homie dont hit my phone no more.”
Embattled rapper DaBaby, meanwhile, was originally cut from the “Donda” song “Jail” following his homophobic rant in July, but West rectified the situation and had DaBaby’s version, entitled “Jail Pt. 2,” added to the album hours after it dropped Sunday.
West said that despite the internet canceling DaBaby over his controversial comments, he decided to move forward with their collaboration because the “Rockstar” rapper was “the only person who said he would vote for me in public” in the 2020 presidential election.
West has since claimed that “Donda” was released by Universal Music Group, the parent company to Def Jam Records, without his permission.
“UNIVERSAL PUT MY ALBUM OUT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL AND THEY BLOCKED JAIL 2 FROM BEING ON THE ALBUM,” he alleged in an Instagram post Sunday.
“Jail Pt. 2” also features Marylin Manson, who is facing multiple accusations of sexual assault and abuse.
